| JAMESTOWN
- For Kelly Easton, writing always was more than a hobby... |
|
It
was a way to escape the lonely world of her childhood,
to carve something good from a rocky home life or to
address subjects that concern her - suburban sprawl,
war - through the lives of her characters.
"Growing
up, I always saw myself as a survivor," Easton
said recently. "That was because of my childhood.
But life has changed, and I think my adult life has
been wonderful. And I'm able to have this small writing
career. I believe in redemption through writing, redemption
through literature."
|
For
lack of a better description, Easton writes books
for kids, little kids and teenagers. In the past 18
months, she's published two novels. And two more are
already sold.
It
gives the impression that Easton is chained to her
laptop computer, cranking out stories, oblivious to
the outside world. In fact, she is married and the
mother of two children; Isabelle, 13, and Isacc, 4.
But it's more that she's on a terrific roll, with
stories and characters tumbling out.
